Sick & no electricity...

No need to blink...my title is correct. Yesterday, those wonderful and hard working council works...HA...decided to cut the power off from 8am to 4pm...a whole day. I have no idea why...I am sure the neighbours will fill me in at some stage!!!

I couldn't even heat up a bottle for Abi...so I went to Mum and Dad's for the day..with two sick kiddies. Abi started coughing on Saturday and by Monday she was so stuffed up her little eyes were watering from her efforts to breath...but in true Abi style, would break into one of her beautiful grins the minute she catched your eye...such a trooper. Noah started coughing on Monday night and is currently in bed practically painted with Vicks Vapour Rub...I have just been laying with him and rubbing his back...it is so horrible to hear him struggle to take a breath. I hate sickness...but who dosen't, right? And after almost two weeks of non-stop rain it has finally decided to clear up...but not for long we are told...so whilst it is absolutely killing him, I am not letting him outside for long periods of time so not to make himself worse. Plus he can't be trusted atm...today I caught him filling a bucket with water and he was saturated. No idea what he planned to do with it ...and when on earth did he learn to turn the tap on?????

In Newcastle yesterday my sister and I took the kids to Lollypops Playland...how fun is that place. I had never been before...I could never understand spending money for the kids to play when there is a perfectly good swing set in the backyard or at the park...yep, I am a scrouge...lol. My sister suggested that the boys needed a good run around after being couped up inside for so long...she was right. I was so impressed with the place... the coffee was great, there wasn't junk food on every possible surface for the kids to hassle you out for, and most importantly Noah had a ball!!! I have been cleaning the house today and at some points during the day my legs were screaming in pain...I thought I would be heading to the Drs tomorrow and this afternoon it hit me...the running, jumping, slipping and slidding with the kids yesterday...lol. I don't think I have had that much exercise since Abi was born...lol. Here are a few pics from the day..

So once again not much to show when it comes to crafty items. I have two of my previous DT projects...the first was to use circles. I stamped a circle pattern and the filled it with different pieces of paper. The second was to use a song title or lyrics...mine is both :). "A little ray of sunshine"...a Brian Cadd song that Dam suggested I use after he wandering into my scrap room during half time one Friday night.

I have a few other LO's and a gift set that I haven't photograhed yet...need some sun!!! Hopefully I will get to that tomorrow.

Oh and Mia, if you are reading this...did your package arrive? Hope so...would love to see what you create with it!!!

Well, thats it for now...I will end this very long winded post and head to bed, my throat is starting to niggle...please no, please no!!!

Friday Night Football...

means Friday Night Scraps. Since this the only time I really get to scrap these days I look forward to it all week. Noah, Abi and myself headed to Newcastle yesterday for my Mum's birthday and during the course of the day ideas and images kept popping into my head...:)

On the way up to Newy I was trying to get Noah to say "Happy Birthday, Nan"...we managed "Party, Cake Nan"...and this is what he said to her as he got out of the car once we arrived...:) Too cute and Mum thought it was hilarious.


So here are the results from last nights scrapfest...lol.

Life

is travelling way to fast for my liking!!! I can't believe May is almost over, Abi is getting closer to 4 mths and in 6mths my little man will be 3!!! SLOW DOWN!!!
Sorry for my absense...I have been very busy doing nothing...:) Seriously I have nothing to show for my time lately...I seem to be forever cleaning, washing, cooking and feeding!!!
I do get a bit of time on a Friday night to sit and scrap while Dam watches the footy...here is the result.


These LO's were all done using the Studio Calico kits...I LURVE these kits!!! Go and take a look!!!

My last DT project was accepted for publication so I won't bother posting it here...YAY for me.

On Saturday morning I got a couple of hours to myself to go and shop for some new winter clothes...I was looking pretty daggy:). I stopped at the paper shop to see what was new on the shelf and staring back at me was the new copy of Simply Cards...with my first article...8 whole pages and it looks awesome if I do say so myself:)!!! It is an article about using sketches and here are the 6 cards that are featured...












Will have to leave it there...it has taken me 3 hours to complete this post...in between feeding Abi, bathing both of them, bringing in the washing, emptying the dishwasher and putting Abi to bed...lol. I now have to go and make a salad, put the lasagne in the oven, have a shower and play 'farm' with Noah...his fave game atm.

3 months

Check out this cheeky little girl...I can't believe she is 3 months already...where does the time go. She seems to have spent most of it sleeping and in the last week has decided that 20minutes at a time is good enough. Exactly the same as her brother...whats with that!!! I shouldn't complain...she goes down at 5pm, sleeps till 11pm, feeds and goes back down until 6 or 7am!!! So I am getting a solid 6 to 7hr sleep a night.

Haven't been scrapping much lately...I haven't been feeling the best. I got my mother's day cards done and Papercraft and Stamping magazine asked me to take part in a challenge...can't show you yet.

I have my DT project from last week...the beautiful Jo and Rosy sent me BG cupcake...so fun!!! We all had to use the same sketch last week to show how it can be interpreted in different ways...here is mine...


I can also show you the two LO's from my kit at 3AS which SOLD OUT...YAY for me...lol.



And this is a scraplift from Self Addressd Card kits...just had to give it a go!!


Mia, I posted your parcel last Friday...hopefully it is almost there...never rely on Australia Post...lol.

Well, I have chores, chores and more chores to do and I might as well get them done while Abi is asleep and Dam and Noah are at swimming lessons.

I was sitting reading through the lovely comments left by Bek and Mia and then this appeared and it had my heart in my throat...why would anyone be so horrible or actually take the time out of their obvious perfect life to write such a comment. I logged in to hit back with a major serve...the whole time my mind telling me that I am only sinking to their level when it occurred to my that there was a chance it was my sister TRYING to be funny!!

I was right on the money...apparently my BIL wanted it to contain more coarse language but my sister was having trouble with the spelling...lol.

So thanks alot guys...you almost had me...

And a big hug to Mia for her lovely comment afterwards...you are a sweet sweet person and after I sign the disownment (not sure if there is such a word...lol) papers, you can be my new sister!!!

Atm, I am treating myself with Nurofen, a two year old and a two month old. Laugh!

Yes, it is painful and NO, I don't feel sorry for my dear husband who has spent the last 4 days in Perth and Brisbane in what he calls...'lonely hotel rooms.' BOO HOO!!! I would pay a million dollars to have a king size bed in the Hilton all to myself...heck, I would still take it if it was located in the lobby!!!

He then went onto explain at 10:30pm as he was getting ready for a full nights sleep without the constant interruptions from two small children, that he was absolutely exhausted and that he was looking forward to a sleep in on the weekend. Well, get in line buddy!!! Tomorrow morning is mine!!! This is the one good thing I have found from no longer breastfeeding...he can do it!!!

I will leave you with a LO that should put a smile on your face...she sure does put one on mine!!!
